PIP Nonprofit Ltd considers environmental protection to be of the utmost importance both in the implementation of our own projects and by supporting programs aimed at it. This year the Company supported two “green projects”.

Following the success of the “1000 trees for Paks” project last year, this fall the company supported another greening initiative titled “PaksON Greening Program 2021”. Nearly 13.000 shrubs were planted in the public areas of Paks by the Municipality of Paks in cooperation with DC Dunakom Zrt. Mayor Péter Szabó and Pál Kovács, State Secretary for the maintenance of capacity of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, gave speeches at the press event held on 26 November 2021. In their speeches the leaders highlighted that the municipality and the government have common intentions: by increasing green spaces in addition to making the environment healthier and more appealing, the program also aims to take action against climate change.

Besides our activities in Paks, our Company took an active role in greening another settlement in the region for the first time.  We supported the plantation of more than 200 mostly native trees in Fadd-Dombori, near the Bartal Canal and along the newly opened bike path.

The number of trees planted in the project exceeded 400, thanks to community cooperation (www.bartalfa.fadd.hu). The environmental initiative was supported by individuals, companies and businesses alike. With the implementation of the program, the Bartal Canal has the potential to become a prominent attraction of the region in the future, where besides water sports lovers, hikers and families arriving on the recently opened bike path can also spend their free time.

On 26 November 2021, State Secretary Pál Kovács, Managing Director Csaba Gyöngyösi, János Fülöp, Mayor of Fadd and Brigitta Benis, coordinator of the program, participated in the ceremonial tree planting that closed the project.
